CHOW CHOW BREED COUNCIL - BREED APPRECIATION DAY
*** NEW ***
The Kennel Club has announced that it is to enhance its Breed Watch system from January 2025, including changes to how it monitors health at shows. The Breed Council has been attending meetings with the Royal Kennel Club over many years to identify, monitor and report any visible breed-specific conformational issues which may impact on health and the welfare of the Chow Chow. These changes should help not only judges but also breeders, exhibitors and owners to ensure the best health ambassadors for our breed.
Judges have been completing a health monitoring form following their championship judging appointment since 2013. From October 2024 the Kennel Club have updated this form and it will be mandatory for judges of all breeds at championship shows, regardless of the breed category.
